Bipolar 2-phase Chopper Driver

Including micro-step feature

Bipolar operation

On display is a stepping-motor micro-step driver for tin-can type motors, disc-type machines and hybrid stepping motors, which is attached to a print-board with the dimension of only 40 x 55mm. All relevant input signals for controlling the driver-electronics may be directed to the screw-type terminal. The current is increased automatically in half-step-mode. Stepping motors with low impedance inductors should be used to ensure correct PWM-chopper action for current control. Otherwise the motor operates in constant voltage mode. Ex factory the electronic with sense resistances for phase current to 0,36A is supplied. Through change these resistances and with additional cooling radiator the driver can also more current supply.
The outputs of the stepping-motor driver are connected by a 4 circuits Molex center header. The connection is secured against incorrect polarity and over-voltage at the operating voltage terminal.

Features

Allocation of the 6-circuits screw-type terminal:
  • Terminal 1: GND
  • Terminal 2: Drive/Enable, disable driver, motor phases are idle, active H
  • Terminal 3: FS/HS, full step, half step = active L
  • Terminal 4: CW/CCW, direction of rotation, CCW = active L
  • Terminal 5: Clock, every falling slope produces 1 step
  • Terminal 6: Supply +10 to 29VDC

All input levels are LS-TTL levels!
